We are proud to finally announce the release of our HalferLand Performance J35 - 4340 Chromoly Forged H-Beam Connecting Rods. Yet another piece to the puzzle in offering the "DIY/Garage Built" customer the ability to build a High Hp J-Series motor from home!! We worked very closely with our manufacturing partner to bring these rods to the J-Series community.... and at an affordable price! From the ground up we blueprinted and spec'ed our rods to reflect our needs, taking advantage of all of the industry proven manufacturing techniques that so many other companies cheap out on to save a buck (Chamfered Small and Big Bore ends, Bronze Bushings, Double shot peened, Big Bore End Foot Bridge Support, H beam style which requires more machining cost but hands down is the strongest style rods available, etc etc) and the needs of our High HP Daily Driver Customers, without breaking the bank. We started with a blank H-Beam canvas, spec'ed the rod to our needs for the J35 engine setup, added a few minor touches such as our Big Bore End Foot Bridge Support and when all was said and done the strength software used to rate our J35 H-Beam Rods raised the HP rating to what you see now (Warrantied 1yr at 1000hp, but stress testing showed in excess of 1300hp capabilities)! We didn't just rely on computer modeling, these exact rods have ran in our Shop R&D 06' Accord Turbo setup for over 30,000 miles of daily and racing abuse (and climbing 2022 update), making 600+HP the entire time. We also partnered with a few of our racing sponsorships who have gone well above the 800-1000whp mark...not a single issue since we released these, NOT ONE!

~ Common Questions ~
Why did you go H-Beam, aren't I beam stronger?
No! H-Beam hands down have proven to be the strongest design possible for connecting rods in real world testing and computer generated models. We targeted our intended customer group, the Honda Jseries enthusiast, revving up to 8k rpm, not 10k rpm as say a K series where I-Beam may be a better, yet weaker fit. The J-Series engine simply doesn't rev as a K-Series engine and even with a huge camshaft to try to overcome the 8k rpm power band, simply put these engines won't make much power beyond that mark...so we built the strongest Forged Rods SPECIFICALLY tailored to the J-Series engine!
Here's a short piece from the experts at EngineLabs explaining this. To keep this short, we did not want to sacrifice any strength just to reduce a little weight, we wanted and do offer the most tested, backed and strongest J-Series Rod on the market (and affordable!

H-beam rods were born out of necessity during WWII when rod failures in fighter planes occurred as allied fighter pilots used nitrous oxide to boost break away speeds during dog fights.

There is constant debate about which is better, the I-beam or the H-beam rod. H-beam rods are usually more rigid and may better distribute the loads and compressive forces placed on them. They may be ideal for lower speed engines running power adders. There are trade offs for this improved strength. H-beam rods can be heavier, sometimes 100 grams more than comparable I-beam, and require greater clearance — something to consider with stroker cranks and large-bore cams. They also require more machining during the manufacturing process, adding to their expense.

I-beam rods can save weight and give additional clearance with only a small sacrifice in strength. This strength loss is minimal in high-end I-beam rods if the materials used are the same as a comparable H-beam. Additional material can be added to the design to further strengthen an I-beam but in some cases that may push overall weight closer to that of a comparable H-beam. I-beams are generally preferred for higher rpm applications.

BEYOND HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. THE RODS ARE VERY HIGH QUALITY, WEIGHED OUT TO LESS THEM 1G DIFFERENCE PER ROD, SO NO BALANCING NEEDED AT ALL. UNLIKE OTHER WE HAVE RAN THE FULL SEASON (SHORT THOUGH WITH COVID) WITH A 200 SHOT ON TOP (650WHP J35 EG COUPE) AND JUST PULLED THE MOTOR TO CHECK ON THE BOTTOM END AND THE RODS LOOK BRAND NEW, ZERO ISSUE! Quality and Affordable
Seldom do those two words "Quality" and "Affordable", but Halferland Performance really hit a home run. They are already installed in our CL race car, fit perfectly and ended up being perfect clearances for stock bearings (rare for aftermarket Rods. Of course you should always check your clearances, just mention it as I found that to be amazing and shows the craftsmanship behind them. Thank you guy, keep up the great work

BEAST MOD
halferland really did a great job with these. i searched the internet and found p2r rods that are almost double the price, zero information on them with no weights, no hp rating etc. these are going into my j32 which will be stroked to a j35

We have a Winner
I have nothing bad to say about my purchase. The shipping was fast, transaction went smooth and easy. Even contacting them prior to purchase P.A. the Owner was very knowledgeable about his part and what application they could be used in. Gave me reassurance and I pulled the trigger and was not disappointed. Outside the box being a little beat up (all six rods do have some weight to them so cant fault them too much, no damage or anything to the rods) the rods are incredible. I've already test fitted and they're perfect....and beefy as hell ;)

Rods look great. Very stout. Appear to be sized perfectly. They are not installed yet so I don't know how they balanced but I expect good things from the looks of the rods. They didn't come with torque instructions for the bolts but a quick message to PA and he'll get you what you need.

Best Buy yet
These are the best price quailtiy Jseries Rods on the market. 4340 material is perfect for all our power push and also being able to daily drive it, unlike Aluminum rods. Can't be happier. They instaed perfe ct and best of all weighed in sub 1g difference so we didn't even have to balance them. Machine shop was even impressed. HalferLand Performance is legit and here help us DIY guys to build awesome Jseries

CAMS + RODS
Built our EK J35a1 swap with all Halferland parts and cant be more impressed. Pricing is beyond fair, gains on the cams were extremely impressive for a stage 2 street cam 36WHP 18WTQ and the Rods are doing great. We are going boost soon and dont have any concern they will eat everything we throw at it _ Currenly NA making 335WHP and on a 200shot 548WHP 480WTQ

1200whp Drag TL
You guys may have seen us on Youtube with our 1200whp Acura TL. We have been running HalferLand rods for two seasons now, first at 1000whp and now stepped up to 1200whp. Pulled them this past off season for measurements to see how far they stretched or if warped at all and let me tell you these rods are beasts! They are a step up from P2R rods and more inline with Crower, which we used in the past, but Crower Rods showed more stretch at a lower HP rating then these HP rods do. Highly recommended!

800hp EK build
I have a few friends using halferland parts and they have all done well so i decide to give them a shot. I wanted to wait a little time to reviews these and have been running the rods for just over a full year. I daily drive my EK, at least during summer or optimal driving conditions and have had nothing but great things to say about the rods. The rods installed perfectly, actually used standard size bearings in all cylinders with no adjustment needed, bolted right in. The shop who built the engine said they didnt need any balancing and were perfect or as perfect as they could be, the after other company i wont name (3 letter) pistons needed a lot of balancing. Im Running nearly 800whp and race nearly each weekend. Definitely 5 Stars!

Initially figured why not
Ok I'm going to post the same review I did for their Rods and cylinder supports. Going into building my S2000 swapped J35a4 I spoke to Sean at P2R and Eric I believe at SlickFab. I'll be 100 with all you, those two companies are apparently either fearful of HPP or just don't like them. SlickFab came off as arrogant and straight up salty, just laying into HPP owner, Sean was some what more reserved but pretty much the same. Being competition I took it with a grain of salt and damn happy I did. HPP parts are affordable and soild. As the title stated I figured "why not" because they guarantee and stand behind all their products for 1 yr which is insane and no one does in the performance industry, so I figured even if I break them I'll just get replacements. Well, build is finished, pushed their pistons, Cylinder guards and rods well into 900whp, not engine, to the wheels, backed it down for Time attack here in TX and this entire season had zero issues around 600-750whp constantly, back to back events, multiple runs each event. So pretty much take any competitions words with a grain of salt, Because they sure are salty when speaking about HPP...maybe their pocket book is getting hit and they don't like that. Anyways to HPP keep up the amazing work and I'll definitely be coming back, maybe sponsorship next season?? LOL

All of their parts!
FYI, I'm just duplicating my reviews for all their products being I ran nothing but HLP Products in my build. They truly deserve praise Personally I've had incredible experience with HLP. There customer service has been great, helpful and insightful. Even helping me with deeper dive questions for my build. Initially I wanted 600hp to the wheels but they advised me due to trans limitations the safer limit would be 500 at the wheel. Well, I had all winter last year to get the car ready, missed most of summer but my 92 Civic Coupe with a J35a3 is finished and running all of HLP lower end parts, their block guards, rods, pistons and now studs. Matched with the built heads they did for me, basically their Stage 2 cams, spring and retainer package, I just got Dyno tuned and made more then I was trying to. So the very first conservative first pull made 565 and 440 on 14psi. I swapped the waste gate spring to 8lbs which was the lightest the tuner had on hand, some more timing and it made 500whp right on the nose ?? HLP really does offer amazing products and they shine when paired together. Thank you guys!

Ordered block guards, pistons, king bearings and rods. Rods are very nice, thick and the bearings spec was perfect with the King STD bearings meaning the rods are also perfect. So I would have to definitely recommend them. FYI HLP provides coupon codes if you leave store reviews, novel idea.

Solid Products
Naturally as a garage mechanic I root for the "little guys" in the industry. I read over some of these other reviews and it honestly sad how other people had to hear the same stuff I did when speaking to "Big brand" companies and mentioning Halferland. They made it seem like my car and engine would explode if I even thought about their products, they said their reviews were fake, so I guess I'm not a real person now? SMH. Anyways, I'm glad I took my friends advice who also reviewed and purchased for them. Im using these in my half mile 6th Gen Accord build and love them thus far. I've sprayed as much as a 250 wet shot at them and now went 70mm Turbo, no Dyno but I'm at 18psi and went a best of 174mph in the 1/2 mile, yes on the same HalferLand Rods

Strongest Rods we have come across for the J-Series
We do multi styles of racing from AutoX to endurance to Drag. We have used these Rods in all the setups with one set being passed between three engines we hurt, wasn't due to the rods, spin a bearing once, then ate a valve running Slickfabs springs (no idea what happened there, ended up getting HalferLands instead) and then melted a piston from pump fuel. Anyways, even the rods that went through 3 engines are still performing amazingly after all the torture and 2.5 years of racing. Picking up another set and almost forgot, you definitely need to either sleeve your block or get their guards too. We run their guards and rods in all our setups.
